Sue Blair - Change & Thrive
Hello and thank you for your interest in Change & Thrive.
I've always been fascinated by change and the impact (positive, negative and everything in between) it has on people. For the most part, I'm one of those people who enjoys change and sees the opportunities that it can bring. As a registered nurse (RN) in the UK I worked in several different specialties including public health, men's health, orthopedics, and general surgery before moving into developing and managing health programs. I experienced multiple organisational changes, because in health care - change is pretty much constant! Since moving to Canada, I've worked in health promotion/public health, program management, and as a parent educator/coach.
Change & Thrive came into being when I was experiencing multiple changes in my own life. I had so many questions about the changes that I was experiencing in my own midlife that I needed to do something. I needed to drive my own change.
My kids were in their early teens and starting to become more independent. I was tired, bored, and hated my job. I was also seeking out new interests and people. I didn't know if this was normal, and I wondered if other people felt the same way. Turns out: it is, they did and they definitely do!
At the age of 44, I embarked on an MSc in Psychology. I spent two and a half years planning and researching midlife transitions for my dissertation - Midlife transitions: Learning from personal experiences. Since graduation, my work has been very much inspired by the participants of my research study and the experiences that they so generously shared with me. My learning drives me to help people navigate the changes and transitions that they experience in a way that works best for them.
I am a Prosci certified change manager with experience gathered over several years
I have a special interest in working with individuals who are in midlife, are coming up to retirement age, or who are considering or undergoing a life change.
PLEASE NOTE: Change & Thrive does NOT provide counselling services.
