Sue Blair - founder of Change & Thrive
Hello and thank you for your interest in Change & Thrive.
For many years I worked in the UK as a registered nurse (RN). I worked in several different specialties including public health, men's health, orthopedics and general surgery before moving into developing and managing health programs. Since moving to Canada, I've been working on health promotion messaging, program management, and working as a parent educator/coach.
I've always been fascinated by change and the impact (positive, negative and everything in between) it has on people. I'm one of those people who mostly enjoys change and sees the opportunities that it can bring. Change & Thrive came into being when I was experiencing multiple changes in my own life. Midlife. I had so many questions about the changes that I was experiencing in my own midlife that I needed to do something...
My kids were in their early teens and starting to become more independent. I was tired, bored, and hated my job. I was also seeking out new interests and people. I didn't know if this was normal, and I wondered if other people felt the same way. Turns out: it is, they did and they definitely do!
At the age of 44, I embarked on an MSc in Psychology. I spent two and a half years planning and researching midlife transitions for my dissertation. Midlife transitions: Learning from personal experiences
My work is very much inspired by the
participants of my research study. From the
experiences that they so generously
shared with me. My learning drives me to help
people navigate the changes and transitions that
they experience in a way that works best for them.
I have a special interest in working with individuals who are in midlife, are coming up to retirement age, considering or undergoing a life change.
PLEASE NOTE: I do NOT provide counselling services.
