A few weeks ago, we started a group we called #Pausitivity. It is the result of Twitter discussions about all things menopausal, including #symptoms of #perimenopause, #menopause and #postmenopause. We were chatting about the lack of printed resources available in doctors' offices, or when we found something how bad they were. We decided that we weren't happy with that.
So... we did something about it.
Welcome to the #KnowYourMenopause campaign!
We want to normalise these symptoms. We want everyone to be aware of these symptoms that can be so disruptive to your life and how you feel on a day-to-day basis.
It's important that you can identify your symptoms, because you need to discuss them with your healthcare provider. It is only by having these discussions that you will get the right treatment for your symptoms. We want your experience to be better than our's and that of so many other women worldwide!
Here's the plan!
Download your #KnowYourMenopause poster (PDF)
Take your picture with it
Use the hashtag #KnowYourMenopause
In the meantime - keep talking, ask questions, get the help that you need to manage YOUR symptoms. We are going to keep sharing information, encouraging discussion and showing that midlife women rock this world!
Pausitivity hope their new poster will help women recognise menopausal symptoms and empower them to seek help from their family doctor.
Pausitivity is formed by women from around the UK and North America, all working together to make menopause a more positive experience for other women
